On Wednesday, May 2, 2018, chado demonstration was held at the Huntington gardens in San Marino for the students from Cal Poly Pomona. As part of their class, the students visited the Japanese garden and the Seifuan tea house. In the Ikebana House, they watched the misono-dana temae demonstration and received a bowl of tea. Every student enjoyed the experience.

December 5, 2017 The Emperor’s Birthday Reception
On Tuesday, December 5, a reception celebrating the December 23 birthday of the Heisei Emperor was held at the Official Residence of the Japanese Consul General in Los Angeles. An outdoor Chado demonstration by our association was included in the official program. Over100 guests enjoyed matcha tea and we all celebrated the Emperor’s birthday.
