On July 12, 2023, 5 th and 6 th grade children, from the Pasadena Buddhist Church Summer Camp-Saishin Dojo, attended an introductory workshop to Chado at the Marsh House at the Huntington Library and Gardens. Of note is that the Pasadena Buddhist Church had donated the Seifuan teahouse now located in the Japanese Gardens of the Huntington Library. Fifteen children observed Chitosebon by Chief of Administration, Mme. Ann Abe, and listened to the narration by Nancy Hamai. The children, with the assistance of Mme. Keiko Nakada, whisked tea and served each other after partaking of sweets served to them. Despite the hot weather, the children watched intently and had many questions. They left with smiles on their faces from a memorable experience.
